#ROHO #PERMOBIL Are ROHO Air Flotation Systems Worth It?

#PERMOBIL & #ROHO

Are you in the market for an air filled seat or mattress or topper by #ROHO?

You have to asking yourselves: Are these ridiculously priced air cushions worth the money? Even with insurance paying up to 80% of the cost?

Short answer is... No.

I don't say this lightly either. I am a wheelchair user who loves the short term comfort of #ROHO.

The issue is the very design and more importantly the materials they use.

The #ROHO Mosiac represents the low end ROHO seat cushion. These are made from a PVC  plastic. Think air mattress just a nicer feeling PVC.

#ROHO mainly makes seat cushions from a material called Butyl Rubber. Think bicycle inner tubes. Again a much nicer feeling if skin contacts the surface.

I am not saying #ROHO uses poor quality materials. Or that the workmanship is low quality either.

The first issue is the design.

In the PVC plastic Mosiac the air cells are pillow shaped. And, and the internal air channel controls air movement by restricting how fast it moves cell to cell.

Problem with this is even when following the directions given to the letter - The rear most and front most rows of air cells stretch by a lot and this is inside the included cover with the cushion.

The next thing is pinhole leaks happen and that leads to air loss.

Upon total failure of the cushion you really can't repair it. Not with the tape patches included.

So what caused the holes?
Even at less than half full of air as per the directions. Even with the included cover. #ROHO can not figure out that the very design creates the perfect storm for what is called SHEER.

The same exact issue for all Butyl Rubber products by #ROHO are equally prone to this same SHEER issue. In face they have known for years about it can't keep any of their air filled products from getting pinhole air leaks.

The particular designs used finger or pillow air cells will fail.

The Mosiac #ROHO air cushion handles up to 300 pounds. I weigh 225 pounds. And, in less than 30 days my #ROHO #Mosiac air cushion failed completely.

I have spent years, since I first interviewed #ROHO on BlogTV finding an equally comfortable and much more durable material that is or can be made skin friendly.

The single biggest problem my solution solves is SHEER.

The next is avoiding overly complex designs/shspes/geometry.

In fact at $10 retail my design far outlasts #ROHO seat cushions every day of the week.

For $25 to $35 not only will my design tolerate a person well over 300 lbs, and provide the same level of pressure sore protection. But, do do for years.

I have several proof of concept models. And, one or two that are 7 or 8 years old and still hold up to my use.

#ROHO I feel your air filled products are a waste of money on all fronts.
