Since you have become the distribution point of #TiLite @TiLite Wheelchairs, #ROHO @ROHO Seat Systems and a ton of other brands. It has become impossible to directly contact those companies to ask important questions. Questions that you would not know, since I don't think you manufacturer any of the products. In effect you are a catalog of amazing products that others sell as dealers of Permobil.
That means even going to your dealers/authorized resellers they won't have answers for many of my questions.
I bet this is the case for a lot of people now.
Now don't get me wrong you and your dealers answer many great questions. And. That is awesome.
I bought a ROHO seat cushion on Amazon the Mosiac.
The product feels well made. It is made if PVC plastic instead of the butyl rubber used for more costly air cushions.
Years back I had the great honor and pleasure of talking to one of your PR or marketing people on my live broadcast online.
At the time I had ideas to improve on the nasty issue of those darn pinhole leaks. My ideas then were on the right track, however the wrong materials.
I paid $80 for this cushion, happily at that. To only end up with it flat in about a month or so.
Rather than blast you about a cheaply made product, and inferior materials. As I know 1000% that is not the case at all. In fact this is the nicest feeling PVC plastic I have ever touched. The seams are double welded. You redesigned the fingers to be more pillow like. I totally see the effort you are making.
I have spent years trying materials out to end up with 99% failing.
Except one material.
My friends at Permobil I hope you read this and get wondering what material could handle such use and not leak....
Mind you I didn't do a scientific test. But many real world tests.
In 2010 I tried a product that I was at my wits end about. My tail end was sore all the time and I tried the oddest things to find the most durable long lasting leak resistant material I could.
One of the most important aspects is it is super cheap. I mean at retail I pay at the most $35 to as low as $10 for the material. It is ultra skin friendly as it can be textured.
I am very upset my ROHO seat cushion I went to great lengths to insure would not leak.
I put velcro on the entire bottom of the seat cover. To insure it won't bunch up and shift.
Then I used a shock cord to keep the front edge of the seat cover at the front. So that the cushion would not be as likely to bunch up inside the cover.
I followed the directions on inflation to the letter.
I also made sure that when I transferred or sat in my wheelchair I didn't just plop down.
And, 2 weeks in I am adding air.
I added air daily for the next week...
Then thought screw this. It went flat over the next week.
So now I roll around in public with a flat ROHO branded seat cover showing people your not full of air. I say it is excellent advertising.
I have my first seat cushion I used that still holds air from 2010.
I now am able to find $10 versions and they also support up to 300 pounds and guess what they do? Hold air.
I wanted to market the idea to you. Because, this material can be made to any shape you desire. Or kept to overall seat cushion size as is now and still achieve pressure relief. Ulser prevention.
And, something just as important.
My much simpler idea is equal to to level of comfort your cushions offer.
Now that I have officially tried a ROHO cushion and not impressed with it at all.
Based on comfort we are equal.
Durability however, my idea no pun intended here - blows you away. 8 days a week.
Of course you would want to see my idea. Maybe hsve me send a sample to allow you the chance to claim ' we are not interested. We have something similar in the pipeline...
So I am not interested in marketing to a company that is happy selling such badly designed products.
You should be embarrassed about your products.
I wish I could get a refund.
ROHO minus 100 stars.
