Medicare now may search your Facebook and Instagram accounts to see if your doing things you're not supposed to do.
You know like have personal interests, a hobby, a life other then sitting facing a corner in the dark doing nothing.
Yet, we don't have the ability to go to college to learn new information and skills to apply towards landing a job.
Maybe a job placement mentor program with school to provide the knowledge and interest in a possible first job/career. And, others a chance to get back into the workforce.
Sadly, our government and most of society rather act as if forcing people into working positions they won't be able to hold due to lack of skills, knowledge, and ability.
This costs tax payers much more money in that when people are forced off or have benefits reduced they can't afford to live where they are. Can't afford medicine. Are now in need of all the same services and benefits, however now these are EMERGENCY needs.
So being forced off SSDI puts more illegal money into Trump's hands and we are put on MEDICAID. Yes. The tax payer supported one.
Otherwise we will need emergency housing, medical care, transportation, clothing and food.
All to be paid for by tax payers.
SSDI is employees paying into it, and employers pay an equal amount into it.
For me it took 10 years to finally get SSDI. This is NOT an easy or fun thing to attempt to acquire. Also, if you imagine it is PAYDAY living large lifestyle.
It is not.
Say you make $1.00 per pay period normally.
On SSDI take 75 cents to 80 cents away from your normal payday.
That is what you are left with. Unlike Medicaid you don't get any vouchers for rent, no discounts for anything like bills.
You pay for your medical coverage right off the top. It is automated.
You then pay separately for your medicine and premiums.
No breaks on other bills like water, gas, electric, garbage, food,
The idea foodstamps are given to EVERYONE is total garbage. Even if they were easy to acquire you still have all those other bills.
Not to mention if you have a car with payments, mortgage, maybe credit cards to pay off...
So imagine whatever amount you make now being reduced 70-80% and trying to live high off the hog on that.
I say to anyone thinking I want to be disabled to live the luxury leisurely lifestyle of the billionaire set. Flying around in private jets. Driving the best most insane super sports cars. Owning multiple homes in multiple locations around the world.
Then DON'T bother.
Bill collectors don't give a crap about you being disabled. They care about you paying what you owe. PERIOD.
It is NOT fun.
It is NOT cool.
You won't enjoy living at such a small income. If you don't enjoy your much larger working income npw... Think about it.
Then you have all sorts of non covered expenses that go along with disability.
Converting your home to be wheelchair friendly - you foot the bill.
If you rent - YOU foot the bill to convert things and add any ramps inside and out. Then when you move, you pay to remove and put things back.
If you need a wheelchair van your cost.
And, Medicare is garbage when it comes to actually living up to medical standards. They have loopholes to get out of helping as much as possible. So they can maximize denials.
Don't worry all other insurance companies are equally bad and and even worse. For any dreams that your private insurance actually cares about you. Trust me, they only care about your wallet.
With denial rates of about 80 to 85% for pretty much everything. Good luck with the drawn out lengthy processes you face for each insurance claims.
The entire process for anyone disabled or not is done to make us want to give up. To forgo the benefits and or services we require and need.
Why? The same reason money is coveted by so many.
The fewer people making it through all the red tape and processes the insurance handlers get to keep it. I imagine in hedge fund accounts to maximize profit for them. While we are left with nothing or very little.
Stay working. Forget the rumors or myths and lies about it being easy on durability.
